A Workshop in Translational Funding Opportunities at the Wellcome Trust

Translational Funding Opportunities at the Wellcome Trust

The Wellcome Trust is a major funder of biomedical research and aims to achieve extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. As well as supporting basic research, the Trust provides a range of translational funding opportunities that aim to bridge the gap between fundamental research and commercial application. Such schemes are aimed at developing innovative technologies to a stage where they can be taken forward commercially thus resulting in real patient benefit.

The Life Science Research Network Wales is pleased to invite Dr Bethan Hughes and Dr Ann Mills-Duggan to give an overview of the available Wellcome Trust translational funding schemes.

This event would be of particular relevance to academics looking to translate their research but would also be of interest to those just wanting to know more about the Wellcome Trust.

The event is hosted at the Life Sciences Hub, Cardiff Bay on Wednesday 4th February 2015 and it will start with lunch at 12:30pm followed by presentations at 1:15pm.
