About this event

Working on a paper or a grant application? Or perhaps you are in the process of writing up your thesis? Join our writing retreat for the day, where you will be guided through techniques and exercises to maximise your productivity while avoiding burnout.

Designed to support academic writing, the retreat is free and open to anyone at a Welsh HEI. If you have attended before, you are more than welcome to join again. There is no limit to the number of times you can attend.

This is in person and online Writers Retreat, and it is free thanks to Ser Cymru funding the network. (Please note that we are unable to cover travel). To register online please click the link below

In terms of the structure, we start with a quick task to get people in the creative space for writing. Then there is a chance to share your goals for the day before starting the first writing block. Throughout the day there are then breaks and a longer lunch break, during which we can catch up on how the writing is going and check in around any issues you are facing with the writing.

There are limited spaces, so please register in advance for this meeting, and make sure you have received a confirmation email.

Make sure you have all the resources you need (data, notes) to hand ready to start. You will also need a pen and paper for one of the exercises we’ll be doing at the beginning.

If you’re no longer able to attend, please let us know by emailing nrn@cardiff.ac.uk, so we know not to wait for you.
